Forrest J Ackerman, the king of Sci-fi and horror died at 11:58 PM on December 4. He passed away at the ripe old age of 92. Ben Chapman and 4E (Forry) spent a lot time together through the years at conventions and other events. 4E was best known for his authorship and creation of Famous Monsters of Filmland (I can include the link now that the horrible man who fired Forry is gone) and Vampirella magazines. He has appeared in numerous cameos in movies and television specials. His former house, the Ackermansion, was a museum of science fiction and horror collections. 4E's nickname was Dr. Acula (A play on words for Dracula). Forrest met Ray Bradbury when he was a teenager and gave him money to start his own magazine. This launched Bradbury's career as a famous author.
Forry gave this website an award years ago called the 4E Faves. Several great people in the horror genre passed away in 2008 and it is a loss for everyone.
