I'd like to publicly thank a great man. BEN
CHAPMAN is one of those
rare individuals whose enthusiasm, class and integrity can't help but
be appreciated, and admired. I had the great pleasure of meeting and
befriending Mr. Chapman while researching an article on him for
Autograph Times. The carachter was always a big favorite...but meeting
the man meant so much more. I hope fans of the movie like the article,
and I hope Mr. Chapman accepts it with thanks, appreciation, and
respect. He's an outstanding person. Thanks for everything, FRIEND.
My very best to you all...
Steve Buchanan

Hiya Ben,,,,,,,,just stumbled onto the site
& just had to sign the
guestbook! Just look at my e-mail address name which confirms that the
Creature is my all-time favorite Sci-Fi! We finally got all the
Creature Trilogy & I think the suit you wore was sheer GENIUS for
it's time. I think it could still hold up without any changes. I was
toying with writing a "CREATURE" #4 script. Should it be in BLACK &
WHITE??? Take Care
Mark:
I was watching a "Creature" sequel this weekend and wondered why no one
has done a fourth installment, or a remake, I think the Creature would
have a lot of appeal, especially since he is supposed to be extinct,
dinosaur films are obviously still very popular and this kind of fits
that category. |

For me, "The Creature from the Black Lagoon"
and its sequels, is about
humanity's inhumanity to those persons, places, or things that do not
fit the normal. The "creature" wasn't like Dracula--not the embodiment
of evil, but more like Frankenstien's monster, a being different and
therefore feared.
"Creature from the Black Lagoon" is an intriguing film that sparks the
viewer's imagination with the realization that we are guests in the
world, not hubrius masters.
This is a very cool site and I'm looking forward to my signed autograph
and "fun kit" package!!
Thanks in advance Mr. Chapman!!

Kai,
From now on, e-mail Ben personally instead of posting your personal
notes on the guest book. His e-mail address is at the bottom of each
page of his web site. I don't think you realize that you posted your
phone number for the whole world to see. |
