It was a real pleasure and a treat meeting you and
Julia Adams at
Monster Bash 2003. The autographed photo of the two of you is the best
souvenir I took home from the Bash. |

Dear Mr. Chapman, No list of truly great
horror icons is complete
without The Creature. I watched the movie, bought the Aurora model, and
read the articles in Famous Monsters of Filmland like every other kid
of the 60's. You occupy a special place in our memories. As I now own
the video it is possible to go back to those days as often as I like.
When I do go back which is often, it is clear to me why this film has
become such a classic and why it makes such an impression even now. In
a sea of unremarkable films, The Creature From The Black Lagoon is
simply superior work. And it's nice to have the opportunity to tell you
so.

Thank you so much for a great night. You and
Lou are the best! You will
be happy to know that a liguini with clam sauce recipe is being
perfected as I write this. You have to come back anyway so you can meet
Ruby Sue (my pet pig). I took my creature doll to work Monday. The
children in my daycare loved him. It is never to early to teach them to
be Ben Chapman fans. Much love!

It was a real HONOR to finally meet you this
past Saturday in
Knoxville! There will always only be ONE "Creature of the Black Lagoon"
film and it was made 50 years ago. Just like the TV "Lone
Ranger"-----there will only be ONE Creature and you are it!! I was so
excited Saturday that I went home and watched the movie again. Thanks
for your time and patience.
